VIVA Rooftop and Restaurant
Perched on top of a hotel in Phuket's Ratsada district, this rooftop restaurant and bar draws visitors with a combination of Italian-influenced cooking, relaxed open-air atmosphere, and pricing that sits well below what the setting might suggest. The menu leans toward wood-fired pizza and grilled meats, and the kitchen stocks quality touches that reflect genuine care — extra virgin olive oil, Himalayan pink salt, and a black peppercorn mill arrive on tables as standard. Operating from 7am through to 11pm every day of the week, it covers everything from a morning coffee to a late dinner, making it a flexible option for travellers with unpredictable schedules. The rooftop setting gives the venue a distinct character, with open views over the surrounding area that make it particularly appealing for evening meals. Staff are consistently noted for being friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere is casual rather than formal — comfortable for solo travellers, couples, and small groups alike. Good to know: The venue is located on top of a hotel under a different name, which makes it easy to miss at street level — look for the hotel entrance and ask staff inside for directions to the rooftop. For those planning a visit during Phuket's peak tourist season (November to February), checking availability through the Facebook page ahead of time is a sensible precaution, especially for evening sittings. As with any rooftop dining, weather can affect the experience during the wetter months between May and October.

Visitor Reviews
We went to this place because it looked really good in the pictures. We loved it. It is a little bit hard to find as it is on the top from of a hotel with a different name but the girls at the hotel reception helped us and we were actually allowed to park in the hotel parking lot. That was very helpful. The food was amazing. We got 2 main dishes (pasta), a salad and a couple of appetizers. The portions were big and we were full by the end of the night. They also gave us complimentary bread and breadsticks along with some pesto and Parmesan cheese. And there are no words about the view. This place is amazing. Definitely check it out. As for the prices, they were surprisingly low for Phuket standards when eating European food. 1100 tub for 2 people is really good.
Awesome experience. Food is not expensive but the quality is there. They have extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), vinegar, Himalayan pink salt, and black peppercorn mill as condiments on the tables, to me that says alot about the restaurant's quality, not every restaurant offer such premium ingredients as condiments. Granted they dont have premium A5 wagyu, but I still enjoyed the evening nonetheless.
The restaurant offers a great variety of dishes, we tried the pizza and steak, and were delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. We had a really enjoyable dinner while the sunset

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
