Grandma Homemade Thai food

4.9(1,012 reviews)$$$$

Tucked away on Thanon Sirirat in Patong, this family-run Thai restaurant has quietly earned a devoted following among visitors who stumble upon it while exploring the area. What sets it apart is the combination of genuinely homemade Thai cooking and a stunning sea view that catches most guests off guard. The owners cook and host with a warmth that gives the place a distinctly home-like feel, far removed from the tourist-oriented restaurants that dominate much of Patong.

The menu focuses on classic Thai dishes prepared fresh daily using traditional methods, with an emphasis on authentic flavour over commercial shortcuts. Authentic, High-Quality Thai Food with a Stunning Sea View! This restaurant is an absolute gem and comes highly, highly recommended (easily 4.8/5 stars!). If you are looking for authentic, soul-warming Thai cuisine, you must visit. Incredible Food and Heartwarming Service The description of "Grandma home-cook Thai food" is spot-on. Every dish we tried was high-quality, clearly made with care, and tasted like true traditional cooking—the kind of food you travel for. The service only adds to the magic. You are served by three incredibly friendly grandmas and the son, who runs the coffee counter as the barista. They make you feel instantly welcome, like you've been invited into their family kitchen. Their warmth and kindness truly enhance the entire dining experience. Beautiful Environment and Ambiance Beyond the amazing food and service, the location and environment are spectacular. Situated facing the sea and high up, the restaurant offers a beautiful environment and stunning views while you eat. It’s the perfect, relaxed setting for a memorable meal. I can’t recommend this place enough for the combination of genuine hospitality, fantastic food, and beautiful scenery. A truly memorable experience!

This restaurant is amazing. Is only 18 minutes walk from Freedom Beach and you will enjoy a breathtaking view. This family business is amazing. This is their home and they share it with everyone by serving their amazing food. Really tasty and authentic Thai. Me and my friend had som tum Thai salad, padthai grandma, tom yum and coconut soup ( all seafood). I will give it 10 ⭐️+++. Definitely recommend.

Where do I start… nothing short AMAZING. The owners were soooo lovely felt like I was at my grandmas house; very chill and homey. View was to die for and we went at 11ish and was only other table and us so night and quiet. We ordered the chicken pad kap pow and chicken panang both rich and tasteful. The lady serving us spoke good English and very funny. Would definitely go back again ❤️

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food

Learn the Spice Scale

Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.

Follow the Crowds

The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.

Ice Is Safe

Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
