SIAM Phuket - Seafood Restaurant

4.8(3,895 reviews)$$$$

Situated on Thaweewong Road in the heart of Patong, this halal-friendly seafood and Thai restaurant has built a loyal following among both tourists and locals for its straightforward approach to fresh coastal cooking. A standout feature is the à la carte ordering process, where diners select and weigh their seafood before it is prepared — a hands-on style that adds transparency and a market-style feel to the meal. The mid-range pricing makes it an accessible option for travellers who want quality seafood without the premium cost often attached to beachfront dining in Phuket. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, fitting comfortably with the laid-back character of Patong. Shellfish and fresh fish feature prominently, and the pineapple fried rice draws particular praise. Service is frequently highlighted in visitor feedback, with staff noted for being attentive and personable. It is worth noting that the fish selection skews toward a smaller range — primarily seabass and tilapia — so those seeking a wide variety of whole fish may want to temper expectations accordingly. Good to know: Opening hours are not publicly listed, so it is advisable to confirm current times with your accommodation before making the trip, particularly during shoulder season. Given its consistent popularity, arriving early in the evening can help avoid longer waits during Phuket's high season. Casual attire is entirely appropriate, and the halal certification makes it a suitable choice for Muslim travellers.

Visitor Reviews

If you’re looking for a restaurant to scratch your seafood itch in Patong this is it!! The seafood is sold à la carte and you pick out and weigh your seafood before cooking. We decided to order fired garlic sauced lobster, BBQ prawns, seafood fired rice and beef lab. The lab was very fresh and we got it with 2 chilies added. It was spicy but we couldn’t stop eating it. The fried rice helped calm the spice down. The lobster & prawns were so delicious and was cooked perfectly and the addition of garlic made it a 10+ We topped the nice lunch off with mango sticky rice to combat the spice and even that was next level. Going to be dreaming about this restaurant when I go home. Don’t miss out on this gem when you’re here.

We were looking for a seafood restaurant as I was craving light but filling food and I was not disappointed! From the service, beginning to end, to the freshness of the fish and shell fish, we ate well. Shout-out to Hnin and Su! It shows that the whole staff in the restaurant care about the customer experience and the service and food quality, even recommending dishes that fit our palette. Definitely a spot to try if you love seafood and are in Phuket! Shrimp cakes and cheese scallops were phenomenal.

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was consistently delicious, the prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was great. We enjoyed it so much that we came here every day during our holiday. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made us feel very comfortable. Highly recommended—we will definitely come back!

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food

Learn the Spice Scale

Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.

Follow the Crowds

The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.

Ice Is Safe

Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
