Siam Thai Restaurant
Tucked into Soi Kebsap in the heart of Patong, this well-regarded restaurant has built a strong following among both visitors and locals for its consistently fresh seafood and authentic Thai cooking. The grilled lobster is a recurring standout in visitor feedback, offered at competitive prices relative to the surrounding area, while the butter-fried crab draws particular praise. Beyond the seafood, the menu covers classic Thai dishes including papaya salad, chicken satay, and kra pao, all prepared with the kind of flavour that suggests genuine attention to the cooking rather than a tourist-adjusted recipe. The atmosphere is relaxed and accessible, fitting comfortably into the mid-range bracket without feeling rushed or overly casual. Portion sizes are noted as generous, and the service receives consistent praise across reviews. The restaurant opens daily at 11am and runs through to 1am, covering everything from a leisurely lunch to a late meal after an evening out in Patong. Good to know: seafood is kept alive until preparation, which speaks to the kitchen's commitment to freshness and is worth bearing in mind when ordering. During the peak tourist season running from November through February, the restaurant sees higher foot traffic, particularly in the evenings, so arriving earlier in the evening or planning ahead during busy periods is advisable for those who prefer a more relaxed pace.

Culinary Highlights: The seafood here is incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. We indulged in several dishes, but the stars were the grilled lobster (which looked stunning, as pictured!), the succulent grilled squid, and the flavorful black pepper crab. Every dish was packed with authentic Thai flavors. A special shout-out must go to the Thai Milk Tea—it was truly awesome! Perfectly creamy, sweet, and refreshing, it was the ideal accompaniment to the meal. Service & Ambiance: The service was tip-top from start to finish. The staff were attentive, friendly, and clearly dedicated to ensuring a great dining experience. It's rare to find such high-quality hospitality. The ambiance is wonderfully family-oriented, making it a comfortable and welcoming place for everyone. If you're looking for an excellent, authentic Thai seafood experience in Patong Phuket with fantastic service, look no further than Siam Thai Restaurant. Highly recommended! - Singapore Family 🇸🇬♥️
My friend and I came here during our trip and we had a really great time. The prices are very reasonable and the overall experience was lovely. We ordered curry and lobster. My curry was excellent, full of flavor and exactly what I was hoping for. My friend said the lobster was a little bit on the dry side, but still good. I also really liked the ambience and the decoration of the place. It felt very original and had a nice atmosphere to relax and enjoy dinner. The owner was very kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. The juices we ordered were also amazing and very refreshing. If we ever come back to Phuket, we would definitely visit again.
Lobster is good and inexpensive if compared with other restaurants (1 middle size for 1000 baht). On the other side, mantis shrimp are a bit expensive (4 = 800 baht). All seafood is alive at moment of choice, so you can be sure you will eat very fresh food. Everything we have try was very tasty and well cooked. Papaya salad and fried rice with seafood among the best I have ever eaten in Thailand. Highly recommended.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
