Zense Spa

4.6(535 reviews)

Situated along busy Chaweng Beach Road in Koh Samui, Zense Spa occupies a clean, well-decorated space that manages to block out the street noise once inside. It operates across a range of services including traditional Thai massage, foot massage, aromatic oil massage, body scrubs, facials, and nail treatments, making it a versatile stop for travellers looking to address multiple wellness needs in a single visit. A men's grooming package combining body scrub, full-body oil massage, and facial has drawn particular praise from visitors.

The setting sits a step above the typical roadside massage parlour in terms of decor and cleanliness, though some visitors note that the quality of treatments is comparable to less expensive options nearby. That said, reviewers consistently highlight skilled technique, with several noting that foot and calf treatments effectively relieved soreness from travel or long days of activity. Prices are marginally higher than street-level alternatives but remain accessible by international spa standards.

Man this is one of the best massages I have done in my life. My friend and I opted for the men’s grooming package which included body scrub, full body aromatic oil massage and facial. The scrub wasn’t too intense but it did the job to make my skin soft and remove the dead cells followed by a soothing massage which altered my perception towards life by slowing it down reverberating every moves on my muscles with pleasant music in the background, the package concluded with a beautiful facial massage. Wonderful just wonderful!

Clean, Professional and top quality all around. A tiny bit pricey (100 baht) from what yiu can usually get, but they gave me massage with hot rocks for 500 instead of 550. It was legs, head and shoulder massage.

Disappointing experience! And wouldn’t call this a luxury spa as they claim. It is basically a better setting massage parlour which the quality of their massage is what you can get from those along the road for 2 - 3 times cheaper. We went for their 2 hour package which costs 5,000 baht per couple. The package was supposed to include 30 mins body scrub, 60 massage and 30 min face mask. We were asked to pay up front (which seems a bit desperate for a spa). Anyway, we were put in one of their private ‘rancid’ room instead of nice relaxing scent (the way a ‘spa’ should smell). The scrubbing lasted 30 min as promised, however, had to take a shower afterward and it took me 5 min to rinse off the product they used and another 5 min for the masseuse to get ready for the massage setting (appeared to be deducted from massage time). During the massage the masseuse was trying to fix my back issue and suggested that I skip the 30 min face massage and go for longer body massage (90 min) instead to allow her enough time to fix my stiffness which I agreed to. The massage started a couple minutes after 18:00 and finished at 19:15 (so that was only 75 min instead of 90 min!). What worse was before we started, I told her I have sciatica pain and would like her to focus on my lower back and hamstring but she insisted that the issues come from my shoulder which effected the back and leg.. so I let her do the magic as she seemed to know better but it started to get painful so I told her to stop, she then added hot stoned on my back instead which was actually nice but that still didn’t help easing my sciatica pain and worsen by the shoulder pain and bruises added from where she was trying to fix the issue.. I wouldn’t say the whole thing was horrible as there are some part of the massage that were nice but for this price I have had 10 times better and proper spa experiences in Thailand. For the quality of the services and the premises I wouldn’t call this a luxury spa as they claim. Sadly, paid 2,500 baht and I got 30 min body scrub and 75 min hot stone massage which was on their promotion for only 1,000 baht…so felt a bit ripped off. Maybe that’s the reason why they asked for upfront payment. I gave 3 stars as they provided hotel pick up, the location of the place was right in the center, the quietness in the treatment room. But they need to invest in aromatic diffuser to meet their claim of being a luxury spa and be more honest with the time of the massage. Overall, I would not go back and would not recommend to anyone unless you wanna brave your chance…

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas

Learn Wat Pho First

Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.

Communicate Pressure Preferences

Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.

Book Longer Sessions

A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
