tawaNN
tawaNN is the signature dining venue at the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort and Spa, set directly on Laem Nan Beach in the Lamai area. The open-air terrace overlooks the bay, making it a popular choice for evening meals where the sea view is as much a draw as the food itself. The restaurant specialises in seafood and steaks, with a bar on site and a relaxed yet refined atmosphere that suits both couples and groups looking for a memorable dinner setting. Visitors consistently highlight the attentive and warm service, with staff noted for their willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions and go beyond expectations. The kitchen has received praise for well-executed dishes, and the combination of ocean views, sea breeze, and candlelit ambience gives the venue a distinctly special-occasion feel without being overly formal. tawaNN opens every evening from 17:00 to 23:00, seven days a week, making it a reliable dinner option throughout the week. As it is located within the Renaissance resort, non-hotel guests are welcome but booking ahead is advisable, particularly on weekends. The restaurant is accessible from Lamai, one of Koh Samui's main coastal strips, and is best reached by taxi or scooter given its beach road address.

Visitor Reviews
We had an amazing dinner at TawaNN at the Renaissance Hotel and Spa. The view alone is worth the visit—absolutely breathtaking and the perfect setting for a relaxing evening. The staff were incredible—friendly, professional, and made us feel so welcome throughout the meal. And the food… wow. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. This was one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had in Thailand. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a special night out with great food and stunning views.
On our first night in Koh Samui, we chose this restaurant. The setting was very elegant, right by the sea — such a relaxing atmosphere. The food was great, and the service was outstanding. We didn’t see chicken satay on the menu, but when we casually asked, they said they could prepare it for us. That’s what I call true service — 100 out of 100. The only small downside was that there were quite a few mosquitoes, but they were very thoughtful and even provided mosquito repellent for us.
Really lovely restaurant our waitress Ning was so lovely she gave us complimentary spring rolls and mocktails, ensured we had everything we needed such a lovely girl! chef Gai & Chef ploysai made delicious food tasted very fresh & divine couldn’t recommend it enough! Thank you😊

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
