LimLongBar & Restaurant
Tucked away in the Maret area of Koh Samui, this small, family-run Thai restaurant and bar has earned a devoted following among visitors staying in the Crystal Bay area and beyond. The warm, welcoming atmosphere — shaped largely by the hospitable family who run it — gives it the relaxed, unpretentious feel of a neighbourhood snack bar rather than a tourist-oriented restaurant, which is a significant part of its appeal. Guests can expect authentic Thai dishes prepared by the resident woman chef, with food arriving quickly despite the quality on offer. The menu covers classic Thai staples, and the bar side of the operation turns out cocktails that draw repeat visits. Prices are consistently praised as excellent value, making it an easy choice for multiple meals during a stay. The combination of attentive, friendly service and generous portions keeps many visitors coming back several nights in a row. Good to know: The restaurant is an easy walk from Crystal Bay, making it a natural option for guests staying in that part of Koh Samui. It opens daily at 10:00 AM and closes at 10:00 PM, covering everything from lunch through to a relaxed evening meal. Note that Tuesday does not appear in the listed opening hours, so it is worth confirming current hours before visiting. No website is available, so stopping in or asking locally is the best way to check availability or get directions using the GPS coordinates.

Visitor Reviews
Amazing service from the gentleman, and the woman chef is absolutely fantastic. The food comes out incredibly fast, and the service is extremely attentive and friendly. On top of that, the prices are unbelievably good. In Lamai, this place is far better than so many others. Try it for yourself—you won’t regret it. We truly grew to love this bar during our stay. It offers all the classic Thai dishes in very good quality and, above all, at unbeatable prices. The warmth and hospitality of the owners are top-notch. Highly recommended!
We really grew to love this bar during our stay. It's comparable to a snack bar. You get all the typical Thai dishes in very good quality and, above all, at an unbeatable price. The warmth and hospitality of the owners is top-notch. I highly recommend the homemade banana liqueur. Keep it up.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
