Silavadee Pool Spa Resort

4.7(1,608 reviews)

Book this one for a couple's trip and you'll understand the appeal within an hour. The property drops down a cliff on Samui's southern coast, with infinity pools looking out over the Gulf, a spa, gulf-view restaurants, and rooms in the top categories that come with a tub on the balcony. Golf carts run guests around the steep bits, and a free shuttle takes you down to the beach. Reviewers rave about breakfast, particularly the noodles, the duck and the salmon, and honeymooners tend to get a welcome package that people remember fondly.

Two honest caveats. There's been construction on site. Most guests say they barely noticed it and were compensated with happy hours or discounts, though one couple found it audible during a massage. The bigger issue is noise of a different kind: this place is genuinely popular with families, the main pool is on the small side with maybe twenty loungers, and anyone picturing a hushed adults-only retreat has occasionally come away disappointed. Ask for a room away from the family clusters if quiet matters to you.

Reviews from Google

This is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in my entire life! it felt like paradise. Everything about this resort is absolutely perfect. The place is exceptionally clean, to the highest standards, and extremely elegant in every single detail. You can clearly feel the luxury and care throughout the entire property. The staff are beyond amazing!! genuinely some of the best and most professional people I have ever encountered. Their hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail were outstanding and unforgettable. The private beach is incredibly clean and easily one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. I stayed with my family in a two-bedroom villa with a private pool, and it was excellent in every way.. spotless, beautifully designed, and absolutely comfortable. Everything was perfect. I honestly wish I had stayed for more days, and I would return without any hesitation.

My husband and I spent a week at Silavadee for our honeymoon and it was absolutely amazing! I never leave Google reviews but this place really deserves one. Everything was amazing, from the staff, the room, the food and the facilities. The construction didn’t bother us at all, and we were compensated for the ongoing construction as well. We also took part in their Valentines Day set menu dinner at the Star rooftop, which was absolutely amazing. Special mention to the staff at Sun, Moon and Star who were all so amazing during our entire stay. We are already talking about coming back to Silavadee in the future.

We stayed here expecting a five-star experience, but unfortunately it felt closer to a three to four-star hotel overall. The hotel is extremely child-friendly, so if you are looking for a peaceful or relaxing stay, I would not recommend it. During our stay we had crying children on both sides of our room, and the main pool area was very busy with kids playing. The pool itself is quite small, with limited seating, roughly around 20 loungers, which made it feel crowded. That said, our jacuzzi room was beautiful and a real highlight. The room was spacious, well designed, with plenty of storage, a very comfortable bed, and a lovely ocean view. We couldn’t fault the room itself. We also had high hopes for the private beach, but on arrival it was covered in trash, seaweed, and fallen branches, and looked like it hadn’t been maintained for some time, which was very disappointing. The food was okay, but far from what you would expect from a five-star hotel. While we were aware of the construction works before arriving, the amount and visibility of it still took away from the relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for. The staff were genuinely lovely and attentive, though some appeared quite inexperienced and we often had to look for someone to order food or drinks. I’m sure this will improve with more training. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you are travelling with family or small children. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver the calm, luxury experience we were hoping for.

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts

Book Shoulder Season

May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates

Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive

Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
