Lamai food court
This open-air food court in Lamai sits at the heart of Koh Samui's local evening dining scene, offering a cluster of independent food stalls where visitors can graze across multiple Thai dishes without committing to a single menu. Operating every night from 5pm until midnight, it draws a mix of locals and travellers looking for an affordable, unfussy meal after a day on the island. Expect a casual, lively atmosphere with music drifting across from nearby bars. The stalls cover a solid range of Thai staples and fresh seafood, all cooked to order at budget prices. One frequently mentioned vendor is Noi's food cart, which has earned a loyal following among repeat visitors. A drinks stall operates on site, though several reviewers note that beverages are also available at the Family Mart located on the corner behind the stalls, which can be a cheaper option. Good to know: The food court is open seven days a week with consistent hours, making it a dependable dinner option regardless of the day. Arriving closer to opening time around 5pm gives the widest choice before popular dishes sell out. Cash is almost certainly required at the stalls, so come prepared. The setting is relaxed rather than polished, and the location next to Lamai's weekend ring events means the surrounding area can get busy on Saturdays.

Visitor Reviews
A lot of excellent Thai food dishes to choose from stalls for very good price. Stall with alcohol and drinks is there too. Otherwise get beverages from Family Mart on the corner behind the stalls.
Excellent food at very affordable prices! Stumbled across Noi's food cart and I ended up eating there multiple nights as it was delicious!! Give her a visit, you won't be disappointed!
Why not?! Local food for a good price. Next to ring with Saturday events. Buy drinks in supermarkets on the corners

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
