Sassy
Sassy is a modern Italian restaurant and steakhouse located on the second floor of Haven Samui mall in Bo Phut, offering a dining experience that draws both island residents and visitors. The interior design earns consistent praise from guests, with a stylish, contemporary aesthetic that sets the tone for a relaxed but polished meal. Owner Layla is known to be a hands-on presence, and the genuinely friendly service is a recurring theme across visitor feedback. The menu leans into Italian and Western territory, featuring dishes such as tuna tartare, wagyu steak, duck confit, Caesar salad, and wood-fired pizza. The tuna and wagyu preparations have drawn particular enthusiasm from diners, and the drinks menu is well-curated for those looking to extend the evening. The restaurant's background music is noted as well-pitched — present but not overpowering — contributing to an atmosphere suited to both casual dinners and longer social occasions. Good to know: Sassy is open every day of the week from 12:00 to 23:30, giving travellers plenty of flexibility across different schedules. The mall setting means air-conditioned comfort, which is a genuine advantage during Koh Samui's hotter months. For groups or special occasions, checking the restaurant's website at sassysamui.com in advance is worthwhile, as it may carry information on reservations and current offerings.

Visitor Reviews
Amazing experience dining at this restaurant. The tuna steak and tuna tartare were incredible. My partner had the wagyu steak and he said it was very tasty, too. The restaurant’s interior is gorgeous and the outdoor seating area is cosy with the ’pool view’. The staff was very friendly and understanding too🥰
My recommendation: come on over, you'll be treated to a truly aesthetically pleasing experience! It was delicious! The music is appropriate and not too loud. The alcohol menu is well-chosen. The atmosphere is pleasant. And the Chef is 5-star! Thank you guys, we'll be back!
I’m a very picky eater, but this place made it. It was my first visit today, and definitely not my last. The ambiance is beautiful and welcoming, and the staff is genuinely friendly. The food arrived quickly and exceeded my expectations. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the 24-hour slow-cooked beef was unbelievably tender. I went for lunch, so it was calm and relaxed, exactly what I was looking for. They even turned on the air conditioning inside for us, which I really appreciated. Highly recommended.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
