Onion 2 Restaurant
Situated on Chaweng Beach Road in Koh Samui, Onion 2 Restaurant has built a strong reputation among both repeat visitors and first-time diners. The restaurant is particularly well regarded for its seafood selection, with dishes such as red snapper, tiger prawns, and fresh crab drawing consistent praise. Portions are described as generous, presentation is considered a highlight, and food is typically served promptly — a combination that has made it a reliable choice in one of Samui's busiest dining corridors. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with staff frequently singled out for their attentiveness and genuine hospitality — a team member named Nico is mentioned by name across multiple reviews. The menu extends beyond Thai and seafood to include options such as pizza, making it a practical choice for groups with varied tastes. Vegetarian diners have also found the kitchen responsive to specific requests and dietary preferences. Good to know: Chaweng Beach Road stays lively throughout the day and into the evening, so the restaurant suits most meal times. Given its popularity, arriving early or during off-peak hours may help avoid a wait during busy tourist periods. Casual attire is entirely appropriate for the beachside setting.

Visitor Reviews
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is truly the best of the best restaurant in Koh Samui! Since 2022, every time I visit the island, I make sure to come here 2–3 times. The whole menu is excellent, and today I enjoyed a perfectly cooked lobster. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I highly recommend — don’t visit Samui without eating here! …. And i come again to try the steak it was delicious as its our last night here nothing can beat this restaurant ✨✨✨✨✨
Great restaurant with excellent, fresh food. The dishes are beautifully presented, portions are large, and everything is served quickly. There is a wide selection of seafood and fish, which we really appreciated. The service is fantastic — friendly, smiling, and genuinely caring about the guests. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We ate here several times and enjoyed every meal. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this place! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We tried the food here looking at reviews online and the menu for vegetarian options. The service was excellent by Niko who also paid special attention to our taste and all our requests. I highly recommend this restaurant. Has a fun vibe and the prices are reasonable. We had chicken pineapple fried rice, veg spring roll, and cheese toast.
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
