Onion 2 Restaurant
Situated on Chaweng Beach Road in the heart of Koh Samui's busiest dining strip, Onion 2 Restaurant has earned a loyal following among both first-time visitors and those who return to the island specifically to eat here. The kitchen's seafood selection is a consistent highlight, with red snapper, tiger prawns, and fresh crab drawing particular praise for their quality and presentation. Portions are generous, dishes arrive promptly, and the overall standard has remained dependable across a broad range of visitors. The atmosphere is relaxed and well-suited to the beachside setting, with staff noted across many visits for their attentiveness and genuine care. A team member named Nico is mentioned by name with regularity, reflecting the kind of personalised service that keeps diners coming back. The menu reaches beyond Thai seafood to include options such as pizza, making it a practical choice for groups with mixed preferences. The kitchen has also shown willingness to accommodate vegetarian requests and specific dietary needs. Good to know: Chaweng Beach Road remains active throughout the day and evening, so the restaurant fits most meal times. Given its popularity, arriving early or during quieter periods may help avoid a wait during peak tourist season. Casual attire is entirely appropriate.

Visitor Reviews
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is truly the best of the best restaurant in Koh Samui! Since 2022, every time I visit the island, I make sure to come here 2–3 times. The whole menu is excellent, and today I enjoyed a perfectly cooked lobster. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I highly recommend — don’t visit Samui without eating here! …. And i come again to try the steak it was delicious as its our last night here nothing can beat this restaurant ✨✨✨✨✨
Great restaurant with excellent, fresh food. The dishes are beautifully presented, portions are large, and everything is served quickly. There is a wide selection of seafood and fish, which we really appreciated. The service is fantastic — friendly, smiling, and genuinely caring about the guests. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We ate here several times and enjoyed every meal. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this place! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We tried the food here looking at reviews online and the menu for vegetarian options. The service was excellent by Niko who also paid special attention to our taste and all our requests. I highly recommend this restaurant. Has a fun vibe and the prices are reasonable. We had chicken pineapple fried rice, veg spring roll, and cheese toast.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
