Onion 2 Restaurant
Seafood is the reason to come here. Red snapper, tiger prawns, crab, lobster if you're feeling flush, all grilled and plated with more care than the average Chaweng Beach Road kitchen bothers with. Portions run large and food comes out fast, which matters when you've got a hungry table. Ask for spicy but not too spicy and the kitchen will get it right rather than nodding and ignoring you.
What keeps people coming back, judging by the reviews, is the floor staff. One server, Nico, gets named again and again. Someone will clean the crab for you if you'd rather not wrestle it. That kind of attention is rarer than it should be on this strip. The menu stretches well past Thai seafood too, so pizza, fried rice, spring rolls and cheese toast are all in play, and vegetarians get looked after properly instead of being handed a sad plate of vegetables. Prices land in reasonable territory for the location.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is truly the best of the best restaurant in Koh Samui! Since 2022, every time I visit the island, I make sure to come here 2–3 times. The whole menu is excellent, and today I enjoyed a perfectly cooked lobster. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I highly recommend — don’t visit Samui without eating here! …. And i come again to try the steak it was delicious as its our last night here nothing can beat this restaurant ✨✨✨✨✨
We tried the food here looking at reviews online and the menu for vegetarian options. The service was excellent by Niko who also paid special attention to our taste and all our requests. I highly recommend this restaurant. Has a fun vibe and the prices are reasonable. We had chicken pineapple fried rice, veg spring roll, and cheese toast.
Excellent value, excellent seafood. Thanks Nico and the entire team for being so passionate. One of the girls was so kind to clean us all the crabs. Red snapper and tiger prawns were amazing. Everything is fresh and grilled to perfection. Definetely visiting again soon.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
