Mango Tango

Mango Tango built an entire dessert café on Thailand's best fruit and became a Siam Square institution doing it, with mango sticky rice as the headliner, backed by mango smoothies, mango ice cream, mango pudding and combination plates for the undecided. The shop's cheerful branding and central location made it many visitors' first-ever mango sticky rice — and the kitchen holds up its end, selecting ripe sweet fruit year-round and pairing it with properly coconut-rich rice, served cold-cased and air-conditioned rather than off a street cart.

The Siam Square location is the whole logistical argument. It sits amid the malls and the BTS interchange where every Bangkok itinerary eventually passes, making it the easiest possible add to a shopping afternoon. Expect students, tourists and a line that photographs the plates as much as eats them.
