CU CLUB&RESTAURANT
CU Club & Restaurant is a late-night venue in the Bophut area of Koh Samui, earning a reputation as a hidden gem among those who know the island's nightlife scene. With a vibrant atmosphere, attentive staff, and a mix of music that keeps the floor moving, it draws a loyal crowd looking for something a little off the main tourist trail. The venue also has a chillout room and offers some food options, making it more than just a place to drink. What sets CU apart is its hours — this is a true late-night spot where things don't really get going until around 4am, with the venue staying open until 8 or 9 in the morning. That means regulars often find themselves walking out into full daylight, which is worth factoring into any plans. The buffet and bar service have both received praise, and the space also works well for private group events like staff parties. As with any late-night venue, it pays to be aware of your surroundings and stay close to friends. Solo travellers in particular should note that at least one visitor has reported an unpleasant experience with another patron. If you are looking for somewhere in Koh Samui to carry a night through until sunrise, CU is worth knowing about — just go in with realistic expectations about when the crowd arrives.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
