The Sky River Club
Perched along the Mae Klong River in Kanchanaburi, The Sky River Club draws visitors with its laid-back atmosphere and scenic river frontage. The real draw is the setting — guests can watch the sunset from the riverbank while taking in views of the water, and wakeboarding sessions are available for just 100 baht per hour, making it a genuinely affordable activity stop as well as a place to drink. The venue features a well-maintained garden and friendly, attentive staff. Drinks on offer include draft beer and cocktails, though some visitors have noted that the cocktail recipes could be better balanced and that drinks sit at a slightly higher price point than expected for the area. Food is served but has received mixed feedback, with quality consistency being the main concern — so it is worth treating this primarily as a bar and activity spot rather than a dining destination. The Sky River Club is open every day of the week from 10:30 to 19:00, which makes it an afternoon rather than a late-night venue despite its nightlife category. This also means it is well-positioned for catching the late afternoon light over the river. Arriving an hour or two before closing gives visitors the best chance of combining a drink with the sunset view, which is consistently highlighted as the highlight of the experience.

Visitor Reviews
Very very chilled place you can see the sunset 🌇 and sub-boarding along the river very cheap 1 hour per 100 baht

Very nice place, drinks a little expensive but nothing insurmountable. 😅 Smiling staff and very well-maintained garden. Small downside: beware of reviews that may not reflect reality. A free portion of popcorn is offered in exchange for a Google review, which is quite surprising because while you're leaving the review (even before eating or drinking your drink), the server checks your phone to make sure the review you left is a good one. It's difficult to rate an establishment before even trying anything. You can probably guess that I changed my review later because feeling spied on for a review is quite unusual. It's still a beautiful place with good cocktails.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
