Larn Sa-Tor Market
Larn Sa-Tor Market is a neighbourhood evening market in Pak Nam, drawing a predominantly local crowd alongside the occasional traveller who finds their way off the tourist trail. The market covers a broad range of goods, from fresh seafood and tropical fruit to ready-to-eat meals, vegetables, sweets, and packaged local products. The atmosphere is informal and lively, offering a genuine window into everyday life in Krabi rather than a curated tourist experience. Food is the clear highlight. Vendors serve freshly cooked dishes and regional specialties at accessible prices, making it a practical and rewarding option for an evening meal. The variety on offer suits different tastes, and the bustling, sensory environment — the sights, smells, and sounds of a working Thai market — adds to the appeal for those curious about local culture. Visitors who have stumbled upon it mid-itinerary, such as en route from Emerald Pool to Ao Nang, consistently describe it as a worthwhile detour worth spending an hour or more exploring. Good to know: Despite the current description suggesting otherwise, reviews indicate the market does not operate daily — visitors should verify opening days before making a special trip. The market runs from around 15:00 each afternoon and closes by approximately 20:00 to 20:30. Cashless payment is accepted across vendors, so carrying only cash is not essential. Arriving on the earlier side ensures the widest selection, as popular items sell out as the evening progresses.

People are really welcoming and friendly, produces are so cheap mostly 10bhats each. Happy to learn local culture and their living habits.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
