White Market
Situated in the Bo Put area of Koh Samui near Chaweng, White Market is a well-regarded evening market that draws a genuine mix of locals and tourists every night of the week. Open daily from 3 PM to 11 PM, it offers a relaxed, social atmosphere without feeling overwhelming — a quality that sets it apart from busier, more tourist-heavy shopping experiences on the island. Food is clearly the main draw here. Visitors consistently highlight the variety and value, with popular options including fresh spring rolls, gyoza, burgers priced around 80–90 baht, and a wide selection of Thai street food and sweets. The stalls are spread across a reasonably tidy, walkable outdoor space with seating available throughout. Beyond food, small vendor stalls offer clothing, accessories, and other merchandise for those inclined to browse. A good practical note: the market sits close to a 7-Eleven, which serves as a useful landmark for arranging a taxi or motorbike pickup when leaving. Arriving in the early evening allows time to explore before the peak crowd builds as the night progresses. Comfortable footwear is worthwhile given the outdoor layout, and the later evening hours make the temperature considerably more pleasant for walking around.

Visitor Reviews
Our favorite market in Koh Samui. Besides tourists, locals also eat here. The selection is wide and the prices are good. Our favorites are fresh spring rolls, the burger (around 80–90 baht), gyoza, bingsu (a must-try, light, airy shaved ice), yellow noodles, and pad kra pao. We visited on several evenings and were satisfied every time.
Amazing night market in Chaweng. Great atmosphere, lots of food options, friendly vendors, and very fair prices. Perfect place to try different Thai street foods, grab a quick bite, and enjoy the vibe at night. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
I stay nearby and this quickly became my go-to night market. I usually come here for sweets, but they have a huge variety of everything. The place is tidy and quite clean. About 50/50 of Thais and tourists, which is a very good sign 😁

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
