White Market
Located in the Bo Put area near Chaweng, White Market is a well-regarded evening market that draws a genuine mix of locals and tourists every night of the week. Open daily from 3 PM to 11 PM, it offers a social, walkable atmosphere without feeling overwhelming — a quality that distinguishes it from busier, more tourist-heavy market experiences elsewhere on the island. Food is the primary draw, with visitors consistently praising both the variety and the value. Popular options include fresh spring rolls, gyoza, burgers priced around 80–90 baht, and a broad selection of Thai street food and sweets. Stalls are spread across a reasonably tidy outdoor space with seating available throughout. A roughly equal split of Thai and international visitors gives the market an authentic feel, and small vendor stalls selling clothing and accessories offer some scope for browsing beyond food. Arriving in the early evening allows time to explore before the crowd builds later in the night. The outdoor layout means comfortable footwear is worthwhile, and the after-dark hours make temperatures considerably more pleasant for walking around. For those arranging onward transport, a nearby 7-Eleven serves as a convenient and easy-to-find landmark for taxi or motorbike pickup when leaving.

Visitor Reviews
Our favorite market in Koh Samui. Besides tourists, locals also eat here. The selection is wide and the prices are good. Our favorites are fresh spring rolls, the burger (around 80–90 baht), gyoza, bingsu (a must-try, light, airy shaved ice), yellow noodles, and pad kra pao. We visited on several evenings and were satisfied every time.
Amazing night market in Chaweng. Great atmosphere, lots of food options, friendly vendors, and very fair prices. Perfect place to try different Thai street foods, grab a quick bite, and enjoy the vibe at night. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
I stay nearby and this quickly became my go-to night market. I usually come here for sweets, but they have a huge variety of everything. The place is tidy and quite clean. About 50/50 of Thais and tourists, which is a very good sign 😁

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
