Makro Koh Samui
This warehouse-style wholesale outlet in Bo Put is a practical stop for travellers staying in villas or self-catering accommodation on Koh Samui. The wide product range covers fresh meat and seafood, packaged groceries, toiletries, cleaning products, and imported goods, with many items sold in small bulk quantities. It draws a mix of residents, hospitality businesses, and visitors looking to keep costs down by cooking their own meals rather than eating out for every occasion. The shopping environment is functional and no-frills, geared toward practical shoppers rather than a tourist experience. Staff at the butchery counter have been singled out for attentive and helpful service. However, some visitors have reported concerns about wait times at the fish counter and inconsistent queuing, and there have been reviews raising hygiene concerns in the fresh and frozen sections, including specific complaints about baked goods being re-dated and resold. Travellers with particular standards around food freshness are advised to inspect products carefully before purchasing. Good to know: The store opens daily at 6am and closes at 11pm, offering flexibility for most schedules. Early morning visits tend to be quieter. A Makro membership card is typically required for entry, so it is worth checking current requirements on the official website at makro.pro before making the trip.

Visitor Reviews
I would like to thank Mister Toey ( เต้ย ) who works in Makro's butchery section. He is very kind, attentive, and very responsible. I would like to deeply thank you for your service, เต้ย. To Makro: please know that this kind of person is very much needed and please do know that more than just one of your employees, someone like him deserves to be seen. His service mind is exceptionally valuable. I am so happy and glad he helped with everything 👍👍👍
Wholesale outlet for food and general household/hotel supplies. They have a wide selection of products to choose from, many of which are only sold in small bulk. Most of the food products can be bought individually and usually you will find one of the more better prices on the island in terms of supermarket shopping.
Dirty shop especially where fresh meat and frozen stuff are. Freezer are full of ice , and you can see products have been defrost and frozen again. Makro lamai is more trustable in terms of hygiene Need to be renovated , freezer change,..... Cooking and catering stuff is poor and offering no professional stuff. I go there if I have no choice and never buy fresh products ...

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
