Central Pinklao
Sitting on Borommaratchachonnani Road in the Bangkok Noi district, this sizeable shopping centre serves the west bank of Bangkok with a broad mix of retail, dining, and entertainment under one roof. Anchored by a large TOPS supermarket, the mall houses numerous well-known Thai and international brands alongside fashion boutiques and electronics stores, making it a practical one-stop destination for everyday needs as well as leisure browsing. A recently launched "Eat and Treats" food zone has expanded the dining offer further, joining an already extensive selection of restaurants and food court options spanning Thai and international cuisine. The atmosphere is lively and family-friendly, with wide, easy-to-navigate floor layouts and directory signs positioned near escalators to help visitors find their bearings quickly. The scale of the mall means there is consistently something to explore across multiple floors, and the variety of food options makes it equally suitable for a dedicated shopping trip or a casual afternoon out. Good to know: The mall is open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with on-site parking available for those arriving by car. Visitors travelling from central Bangkok can reach it by taxi, tuk-tuk, or public transport. At the time of some recent visits, renovation and construction work was ongoing in parts of the mall, which temporarily affected escalator access on certain routes, so allow extra time to navigate between floors and check the official website for current updates before visiting.

Our first visit on 2 March 2026. Fantastic shopping mall. Everything you need is here. A lot of food choices and a huge TOPS supermarket. Much better than the Central Rama9 mall near our home.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
