Song Khlong Floating Market (Wat Talingchan)
Tucked within the grounds of Wat Talingchan, a working Buddhist temple in Bangkok's Taling Chan district, this small weekend market offers a noticeably more local experience than the larger floating market located just a short walk away along the same canal. Visitors can browse vendors selling fresh produce, ready-to-eat Thai dishes, drinks, and traditional desserts, with canal-side seating that creates a genuinely relaxed atmosphere. A short boat trip along the canal — visiting a nearby temple and stopping to feed fish — is available for around 69 baht, adding a memorable dimension beyond the market itself. The market is compact, with a modest number of food stalls and a network of alleyways featuring wall murals connecting it to the neighbouring Taling Chan Floating Market. While the food selection is more limited than larger markets, reviewers consistently highlight the calm, unhurried atmosphere and the authentic local character as genuine strengths rather than shortcomings. A karaoke corner adds an unexpected and characteristically Thai touch to the experience. Good to know: Song Khlong operates on Saturdays and Sundays only, from 8am to 3pm. Arriving early — around 8 or 9am — means smaller crowds and the best selection of food. As the market sits within an active temple, modest dress covering shoulders and knees is appropriate. Bring cash in small denominations, as card payments are unlikely to be accepted by most vendors. The market is walkable from the nearby Taling Chan Floating Market, making it easy to visit both in a single morning trip.

Visitor Reviews
There is a series of alley ways with some nice wall murals that lets you go from the Taling Chan Floating Market ตลาดน้ำตลิ่งชัน to Song Klong Floating Market. Rather than a floating market it feels like a riverside restaurant seating area that also has some commerce. Even so, it feels more authentic (less tourists) and with more local Thai feel vs. Taling Chan Floating Market ตลาดน้ำตลิ่งชัน. Well worth the effort to go there.
Don,t skip this market! Nice small market in the middle of the city that still has a local vibe 😊 Not many foods stalls but enough. And the seating is lovely located along the canal, very chill and comfortable 😊 Nice live music along the walk too, you will get both Thai and English in country style 🤗 Worth coming back just to sit and free your mind by the canal.
Lovely floating market. Small with only a few boats, but that’s what made it lovely. A boat trip to a temple and to feed fish is 69baht and if you go early about 8/9am then it is quiet. Recommend here !

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
