How do I get to Koh Samui?

Fly direct to Samui Airport (USM) — Bangkok Airways operates most routes from Bangkok (1 hour). Alternatively, fly to Surat Thani (URT) and buy the bus-and-ferry ticket at arrivals (5–7 hours from Bangkok, about ฿1,500–3,000 all in, significantly cheaper). High-speed ferries also run from Don Sak pier.

Is Koh Samui expensive compared to other Thai islands?
