Crystal Bay Yacht Club Beach Resort

4.1(268 reviews)

Set along the Lamai coast of Koh Samui, this beachfront resort combines hotel accommodation with yacht club facilities, offering direct beach access and a seaside setting for travellers drawn to water-based activities and island life. The resort's position in Lamai places guests within easy reach of the area's restaurants, bars, and shops, suiting those who want a lively, walkable base rather than a secluded retreat. Accommodation includes ocean-view bungalows with beach proximity, and the on-site restaurant draws consistent praise from guests for its food quality, with dishes like mango sticky rice frequently highlighted. The pool has recently been completed following a period of construction, and ongoing renovation work across parts of the property suggests the resort is in a transitional phase — some areas reflect its improving direction, while others remain dated. Visitors report a noticeable gap between online photos and current room conditions in certain accommodation types, so it is worth contacting the property directly to confirm the status of specific rooms or facilities before booking. Good to know: The resort has been undergoing active renovation, which has affected pool availability and some bungalow categories in recent periods. Travellers planning a stay should verify current construction activity and request updated room photos at the time of booking. Peak season on Koh Samui runs from November to February, when advance bookings are strongly recommended. Lamai Beach can experience strong currents during certain months, so checking local swimming conditions on arrival is advisable.

Visitor Reviews

Just spent ten nights in an ocean view bungalow. Great position to the beach. Food was amazing especially the mango sticky rice. No complaints with any of the food we ordered. Service was great especially Shine at breakfast who always remembered our order and Tony during the day who was so friendly! The beach is great and water calm.

Great location by the beach. The restaurant is a bit expensive but very high quality food! The rooms are great but the toilet/bathroom needs an upgrade. The pool was finished and was nice!

Went there 4 days, overall pretty nice location and nice beach, but there was construction on the pool and on the bungalows with sea view. So i dont really understand how we could book a sea view bungalow while they were none available. So we didnt get the sea view we wanted and there was construction, so a moderate 3 stars😊

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts

Book Shoulder Season

May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates

Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive

Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
