Crystal Bay Yacht Club Beach Resort

Just spent ten nights in an ocean view bungalow. Great position to the beach. Food was amazing especially the mango sticky rice. No complaints with any of the food we ordered. Service was great especially Shine at breakfast who always remembered our order and Tony during the day who was so friendly! The beach is great and water calm.

Went there 4 days, overall pretty nice location and nice beach, but there was construction on the pool and on the bungalows with sea view. So i dont really understand how we could book a sea view bungalow while they were none available. So we didnt get the sea view we wanted and there was construction, so a moderate 3 stars😊

Our room was unfortunately very rundown and did not match the photos shown online at the time of booking. As we arrived after sunset, the lack of furniture and basic furnishings was immediately noticeable – there wasn’t even a bedside table or lamp. We requested a lamp straight away, as the main lighting was very cold and uncomfortable. The lamp we were provided with was in poor condition: it was dusty, partially broken, and did not feel safe to use. It also didn’t fit properly on the bedside table, so we had to place it on a small stool just to have usable light, which only highlighted the overall lack of care and maintenance in the room. We decided to stay one night to see how things felt in the morning, especially as the main reason we chose this property was for easy access to Crystal Bay Beach. However, when we visited the beach the next morning and saw plastic and litter scattered across the sand, we knew we didn’t want to stay any longer. The staff on the second day had changed, and in contrast to the colder reception we experienced at check-in, the morning staff were much more friendly and helpful. They showed us an alternative room, which was significantly better and clearly newly renovated. Unfortunately, the renovations had just been completed and the room had a strong smell of fresh paint, along with a noticeable amount of dust, making it unsuitable for us to move into at that time. The hotel refunded our unused nights, which we appreciated, and we decided to leave. We’re grateful for the flexibility and helpfulness of the staff on day two. That said, the original room was clearly in need of substantial improvements. Issues included exposed wall sockets, an unsightly bold blue painted headboard, an old electrical shower unit that never warmed up properly, missing basic bed linens, visible cracks and marks throughout, small ants in the bathroom, and an old wooden door that had to be slammed shut. Overall, these are not things you would expect at this price point, and the condition of the room felt more in line with accommodation costing roughly half the nightly rate.
