Compare prices
Kasem Island Resort occupies a quiet islet on the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi, offering guests a rare sense of seclusion without straying far from town. The resort's most distinctive feature is its floating raft rooms, which sit directly on the water and deliver an immersive riverside experience. Mountain views, fresh air, and the gentle movement of the river create a calm atmosphere that sets this property apart from standard hotel stays in the region. Guests can expect clean, spacious rooms — select rooms such as A6 include a jacuzzi — and the ability to fish directly from their accommodation, a detail that particularly appeals to leisure travellers. The resort also features an outdoor pool and an on-site restaurant serving breakfast. Staff are noted for their friendliness and good English communication. Reviewers consistently highlight the peaceful surroundings and the resort's charm, though some note that certain amenities and facilities are showing their age, which is worth factoring into expectations. For practical planning, the resort operates around the clock and is open every day of the week, making flexible check-in straightforward. Given the riverside setting and natural surroundings, light, breathable clothing is recommended, along with insect repellent for evenings outdoors. The resort suits travellers looking for a quiet overnight escape or a relaxed multi-night stay rather than a feature-heavy luxury property.

Visitor Reviews
Great Staffs and service Great location - quiet and fresh air environment. Not far from town. Can fishing from your room. Really love it. Room was nice and big. Just the toilet got water leaking. Please take notes that this place is located at the small island and need to travel by boat about 3 mins(300meter) from mainland. Its not 5 star room service. It more on homestay. They provide you just basic needs such as room cleaning, breakfast and delivery from island to main land. Can order halal foods by Grab app. Receptionist will send the foods to your room.
I had a wonderful stay at Kasem Island Resort in Kanchanaburi. The rooms were clean, and the surroundings were incredibly peaceful. The resort is located on a serene little island, offering a tranquil atmosphere, yet it's only about an 8-minute drive to downtown, making it perfectly convenient.
Great atmosphere with a riverside view. Fishing is allowed. Room A6 also comes with a jacuzzi!(I love it.)

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
