Banana Beach
Small beaches age fast in Phuket, and this one is going through it. The setting still does the heavy lifting: a short curve of fine white sand on the northwest coast, thick jungle right behind it throwing real shade across the sand, and water that stays calm because jet skis and boat traffic mostly stay away. Snorkellers do well here. There are plenty of fish close in, which is not something you can say about every beach on the island.
The catch is that word got out. A beach club and restaurant setup has landed, and people who knew it five years ago say the quiet, tropical feel has taken a hit. It's still worth the trip, in my view, but come on a weekday morning if you want it closer to how the photos look. If you'd rather arrive by sea, day trips run from Ao Chalong, roughly 15 minutes by speedboat, with packages around 2,000 baht per person covering hotel transfers, snorkelling and kayaking.

Hidden gem in phuket 🏝️, white sand & crystal clear water. Not too crowded and there's so many activities to do. Our program includes hotel pick up&drop off and round trip transfer boat, snorkeling and kayaking for only 2000 baht per person. 15 mins by speedboat from Ao chalong, I usually get seasick but was fine with this trip .Worth visiting🫶🏻🫶🏻

Unfortunately, lately it has become way too crowded, and the beach club/restaurant setup takes away a lot of the charm that made this place feel special in the first place. On a beach that’s naturally stunning, the commercial vibe really changes the experience. Still a beautiful spot, but it doesn’t feel like the hidden gem it once was.
