Thai Cooking With Judy
Hosted on a working family farm in the Wichit area of Phuket, this cooking experience stands out for its immersive, garden-to-table approach. Classes begin with a guided tour of the property's herb and vegetable garden, where participants learn to identify and understand the fresh ingredients that form the backbone of authentic Thai cuisine. The outdoor kitchen setting adds a lively, open-air energy to the session, and the small-group format means instruction is personal and attentive throughout. Led by Judy, an experienced and enthusiastic chef, classes cover traditional techniques and recipes with a focus on genuine flavour and method rather than simplified shortcuts. Participants cook and eat what they prepare, leaving with both a full stomach and practical skills transferable to their home kitchen. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it suitable for solo travellers, couples, and those with little to no prior cooking experience. Good to know: Classes run seven days a week from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, offering good flexibility for most itineraries. It is worth checking Judy's Instagram page (phuket_nonnita) in advance to confirm availability and current class offerings, as schedules and group sizes may vary. Comfortable, breathable clothing is advisable given the outdoor kitchen environment and Phuket's tropical heat.

I’m short of words to explain this amazing experience. The warmth , the love, the years of experience & passion in cooking and the energy explosion in the open kitchen is too good to miss. If you love Thai cuisine and want to learn the basic recipes , fun facts , tips and tricks from the expert , then don’t look for anyone else - please come to Cooking class with Judy ! She is the best and with her family’s support , you are going to go back with a by far the most beautiful experience of a lifetime ! My husband and son enjoyed the hands on experience , we got to hand pick all of the herbs , got to try different leaves , discussed so many flavors with Judy and eventually started off with cooking . The kitchen set up is so farm like and being right in the midst of nature is the highlight . We made yummy Penang curry with chicken, Coconut milk soup with chicken and Thai spices , prepare the best mani sticky rice with a beautiful color using pea flower (this was just wow!) . Judy and her family treat you just like you are part of their family . We extended our class with a one day stay and it was the best part of our Thailand trip. Cannot wait to bring my parents and recommending this place and this class to everyone I know for sure !! We love you Judy and family big hugs 🤩🤩🤩😍😍🥰🥰😘😘
This was one of the highlights of our entire trip to SE Asia! It was a full on experience with the most generous and talented chef and teacher, starting with tours of her garden, trying and learning about different fresh herbs, meeting and feeding so many cute animals, and of course cooking and eating an actual feast! We made some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. It was incredible to learn all about Judy and her life, and seeing her incredible establishment she’s built! This is absolutely a can’t miss experience in Phuket :)
This was nothing short of a 5 star experience, right from the moment you arrive to when you leave with full bellies! Not only do you get a masterclass in Thai cooking with Judy, you also get to roam her estate, learn about various herbs and ingredients, meet the animals, and of course make your own delicious meals. We had an amazing time with Judy and made a delicious variety of meals, and couldn’t recommend her more highly. Give it a go if you can!

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
