5.0(49 reviews)

Run by the highly regarded Miss Chel, this cooking school in Karon offers hands-on Thai culinary classes suitable for individuals, families, and large groups. Miss Chel is widely praised by visitors for her friendly teaching style and ability to make the experience both educational and genuinely entertaining, ensuring everyone in the group stays engaged throughout the session.

Classes cover classic Thai dishes such as pad thai, tom yum soup, and mango sticky rice, with instruction that goes beyond technique to explain the cultural context and key ingredients behind each recipe. Groups have the flexibility to customise their menu, and the school caters well to various dietary requirements. The classes culminate in sitting down to eat everything prepared during the lesson, making it a satisfying culinary and social experience. Families with teenagers have found it a particularly good fit, as portions are generous and the relaxed atmosphere suits mixed groups.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
