Kalim Viewpoint
Perched above Patong Bay on the outskirts of the Patong district, Kalim Viewpoint offers sweeping coastal panoramas that remain relatively under the radar compared to Phuket's more commercialised lookouts. The elevated position delivers open views across the bay and surrounding hillside, making it a rewarding stop for photographers and travellers seeking a quieter alternative to busier vantage points on the island. Beyond the views, the site also features a zipline and mini golf, adding an active dimension that sets it apart from a simple scenic stop. The atmosphere is relaxed and uncrowded, drawing visitors who prefer a more peaceful setting. It is worth noting that experiences can vary — some visitors report clear, unobstructed views, while others have found certain sightlines partially blocked by tree growth, so conditions may depend on where exactly you position yourself on the site. Getting here requires some caution. The access road is notably steep and the route can be confusing, as navigation apps sometimes suggest a rougher dirt track as an alternative to the paved road. Arriving by motorbike or a vehicle with good power is advisable, and visitors should confirm the correct paved route before setting off. Sunset is widely considered the standout time to visit, when the light over Patong Bay is at its most dramatic. Given the lack of confirmed opening hours, it is sensible to arrive with enough daylight to navigate the approach safely.

Visitor Reviews
Absolutely stunning spot! I visited Kalim Viewpoint just to take some photos, and it was totally worth it. The view over Patong Bay is peaceful and beautiful, especially at sunset. It’s quiet, not crowded, and a perfect place to relax or capture great pictures. No entry fee, just a short ride or hike to the top. Highly recommended if you’re in Phuket and want a scenic viewpoint away from the busy areas! 📸🌴🌅
Amazing sunset viewpoint! Not a lot of people know about this spot, which is a shame but I will definitely be gatekeeping ;) There is also a zipline and mini golf! To get to the viewpoint is super steep, a tip would be to pre book Grabs for the ride down, because there may not be drivers willing to make the trek after the sun goes down. Stay safe!
Be careful trying to get here! Google Maps has 2 different ways to get here, one is steep road that is all paved and very quick. The other is a mix of a dirt road, rocks, sand, and anything else that is difficult to drive on with a scooter. Take the road that goes through the center of town and is a straight shot up but be careful.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
