Trail up to Kuan Nom Saow viewpoint
Perched on a hill in Khao Thong, this popular viewpoint destination combines a rewarding climb with an unexpected bonus: a small restaurant at the top serving Thai dishes including curries and Thai tea, all at notably low prices. The panoramic views take in jungle-covered hills and the surrounding landscape of Mueang Krabi District, making it a worthwhile detour from the coast for those looking to experience a different side of Krabi. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with friendly staff and a small garden area to explore after eating. It draws a mix of travellers and locals, and the restaurant can fill up during peak times, with waits of around ten minutes for a seat when busy. The combination of scenery, food, and laid-back setting has made it a spot that some visitors return to on subsequent trips to Krabi. Good to know: The road leading up to the viewpoint is steep and uneven in places, with some sandy sections. Those arriving by scooter should ride with care, and less confident riders may prefer to park below and walk the final stretch. Early morning visits are recommended to avoid heat and secure a table at the restaurant. Solid footwear with good grip is advisable, and bringing water is sensible for the climb.

Visitor Reviews
Such a beautiful viewpoint! 🌄 There’s a small restaurant where you can enjoy a Thai tea or a nice meal while admiring the stunning mountain view. The place also has a lovely garden to walk around after your drink. Not a difficult spot to reach — you can drive almost all the way up with your scooter.
Great spot to ride a scooter to amazing view great staff. If you can't ride a bike very well you are best to maybe walk the last little bit as there is very uneven terrain and sandy bits the back end can slide on. If you can ride a bike it is all good fun trail.
2nd time we go there after 2 years ! Beautiful jungle view on top of a hill, the food is delicious! we ordered vegan tofu massaman and green curry. The staff is cool and friendly specially the long hair guy 🙏

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
