Thankiri Kamnan Park - Krabi
Thankiri Kamnan Park sits in the Khao Thong area of Mueang Krabi and offers something increasingly rare in southern Thailand: a genuine, unhurried local experience that has yet to be overrun by tourist crowds. The park combines natural green surroundings with a working resort, featuring bungalow accommodation, a lake, a natural stream, a cafe, and a restaurant. Visitors can swim, kayak, or take out a pedalboat, making it a versatile stop whether travellers are passing through or looking to stay a night or two.
The atmosphere leans strongly local, with Thai families gathering to swim in the stream, picnic, and simply spend time outdoors together. This gives the park a relaxed, authentic character that contrasts with Krabi's busier coastal attractions. The grounds are well maintained and the bungalows are noted for being clean and comfortable, while the surrounding gardens and wildlife add to the sense of quiet escape. Couples and solo travellers can certainly enjoy it, though those travelling with children may find the most to do.
Arriving early is worthwhile, as the park tends to be quieter in the morning hours and the cooler temperatures make exploring the grounds more comfortable. As no official website or published opening hours are currently available online, visitors are advised to confirm details locally or through their accommodation before making the trip. Private transport is the most practical option given the park's location on an unnamed road outside central Krabi town.

Reviews from Google
Lovely, clean and well cared for park with a very pleasant atmosphere. We arrived at 8 a.m. and were the first and only visitors until around 10, which made it feel especially calm and peaceful. We went kayaking for about an hour for 200 THB. The route is easy and really nice to paddle. Entrance fee is 50 THB per person. There are several good photo spots around the park and a nice café as well.
One of the most authentic places I visited in Thailand. The locals visit the park with their families. They swim in the stream and eat the food they brought with them. A cozy and beautiful park with lots of flowers. A place to find peace and quiet. I didn’t stay at the hotel. Google asked me to give stars 0-5 and I’m giving 5 as I’m sure its the right review.
Really beautiful hotel. Have a lake and also river besides it. Can go kayak, swim or pedalboat there too. Hotel is new. Top notch build. Also have cafe and restaurant there. We love the place. Definitely gonna repeat again next year on our yearly Thailand adventure.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Popular Activities Online
Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
