Island Muay Thai gives Koh Tao a second training address alongside Monsoon Gym, and the same happy formula applies, proper Muay Thai classes on an island where nearly everyone is here to dive, so the standard guest trains in the morning and is underwater by afternoon. The gym runs leveled group sessions with Thai trainers — pads, bags, clinch and technique — sized for the island's rotating crowd of beginners and returners, with privates available for anyone who wants faster correction.

Koh Tao's compactness does the logistics. The gym, Sairee's accommodation, the dive schools and the beach all sit within a few minutes of each other, so two weeks of training and diving here needs no vehicle at all. Plenty of travelers who came for an Open Water course leave having accidentally acquired a Muay Thai habit as well.
