Maya Square

4.5(214 reviews)

Maya is a popular multi-storey shopping mall situated on Huay Kaew Road in central Chiang Mai, drawing both tourists and locals with its broad mix of international and local stores, a supermarket, pharmacies, souvenir shops, and boutiques. Its central location makes it a convenient stop whether visitors are running errands or simply filling an afternoon.

The upper floors are a highlight for many visitors — the rooftop offers impressive views across the city toward the surrounding mountains, while a game zone provides entertainment for those looking for something beyond retail. A well-regarded food court on level four and additional dining options in the basement give visitors plenty of choices for a casual meal, with local Thai dishes and international options both represented. Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
