Maya Kitchen
Situated on the fourth floor of Maya Lifestyle Shopping Mall along Huay Kaew Road, this popular food court draws locals and visitors alike with its wide selection of Thai dishes, a handful of Japanese options, and consistently affordable prices. The open, spacious layout is well-maintained and air-conditioned, making it a comfortable place to eat after exploring the mall or the surrounding Nimman area. Rather than ordering from a single kitchen, visitors choose from a variety of independent food stalls, each specialising in different dishes. The system works on a prepaid card basis: shoppers load credit onto a card at the entrance and use it across any stall, with any remaining balance refunded on the way out. Reviewers note the food quality is high for a shopping centre food court, and the cleanliness standards stand out, including dedicated utensil stations with boiling water for scalding cutlery before use. Good to know: Pick up and load a card at the front of the food court before browsing the stalls, as individual vendors do not handle cash directly. Maya Kitchen tends to get busy during lunch and dinner peaks, so arriving slightly outside those hours makes for a more relaxed experience. Since opening hours are not confirmed online, it is worth checking with the mall directly or consulting recent reviews before making a special trip.

Visitor Reviews
The food is delicious, the prices are good. Most options are Thai food with a few Japanese options. The place is clean and is cute as well. Like many Thai food court , it works with a card system where you need to fill out a card with money to pay at the various restaurants. If there is any money left, go back to the front desk and they will give you back the money. For those asking why, by doing this it increases hygiene since the people that make the food do not need to play with money and it simplifies their job. 😉
I’ve had at least 10 meals here since arriving in Chiangmai on December the 17th. The food is so affordable, there are so many choices, and each food stall looks clean and well maintained. It’s quite easy to pay for meals: just get a free card that is issued to you at near the entrance, and top it up with cash.
Love Maya Kitchen! When I go to chaing mai, Maya Kitchen in Maya shopping is where I go to eat. You add money to a card they provide you and you are free to use it at any of the food stands in the area. If you run out of money, you top up and continue eating. Huge variety of food, drinks and dessert. Amazing!
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
