Phuket Herbal Sauna & Wellness Spa

4.8(135 reviews)

Tucked away in the residential calm of Rawai in southern Phuket, this wellness spa has built a loyal following around its wood-fired herbal sauna, which uses real Thai herbs and natural charcoal heat to create a steam experience that stands apart from the typical spa circuit. Owner and therapist Noi runs the operation with a hands-on approach, and the venue has expanded over time to include a plunge pool, ice baths, both indoor and outdoor massage areas, and a small cafe — making it a well-rounded destination for a half-day wellness session rather than a quick treatment stop. Visitors can expect a genuinely therapeutic atmosphere rather than a polished resort experience. The sauna reaches temperatures above 55 degrees Celsius, and the combination of hot steam, cold plunge, and massage follows a rhythm closer to traditional Thai healing practice than to mainstream spa formats. The setting is relaxed and unhurried, with a natural, organic feel that regulars describe as a genuine retreat from Phuket's busier tourist zones. Good to know: The spa is open every day of the week from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, which makes scheduling straightforward. First-time visitors to herbal saunas should allow at least two to three hours to move properly through the heat, cool-down, and massage stages without feeling rushed. Booking ahead is advisable during the high season between November and April, as Noi's hands-on involvement means capacity is limited.

A wonderful little oasis to relax & unwind 🌿 💚 Fresh herbs create an authentic wood-fired steam sauna experience that feels truly unique. Warm and cold showers, as well as a lovely swimming pool, make it easy to refresh and linger. The owner is absolutely delightful. Warm, welcoming and incredibly hospitable and serves delicious home cooked food from her cafe. It’s the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Phuket, surrounded by greenery, flowers and a beautiful attention to detail. You can truly find peace and relaxation here. Highly recommended! ✨

The best kept secret in Rawai. Noi has recently expanded her sauna to now include a beautiful plunge pool, outdoor and indoor massage areas, a cool baral and lovely cafe. The natural woodfire herbal steam sauna is unique to the area with so many health benifts compared to dry saunas. Noi has filled the spa with an abundance of plants and trees and soft ambient lighting. Due to it being such a secret it is rarely busy so you get the chance to really unwind.

Absolute gem in Rawai where peace of mind is achieved. Run by a true wellness therapist, Noi , this enchanting place features a very hot (55+ C) aromatic sauna, plunge pool, ice baths, therapeutic massages, food and beverages (love her ginger tea). Couldn't go anywhere else! Well done Noi🙏🇹🇭Keep it up

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas

Learn Wat Pho First

Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.

Communicate Pressure Preferences

Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.

Book Longer Sessions

A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
