Rawai Thaï Cooking Class
Tucked away in the residential neighbourhood of Rawai, away from Phuket's busier tourist corridors, this cooking school offers hands-on classes in authentic Thai cuisine. Participants cook classic dishes from scratch using fresh ingredients, with past students preparing favourites such as papaya salad, pad thai, panang curry, pad see ew, tom kha, and mango sticky rice. The curriculum is flexible, with some classes allowing guests to request specific dishes, making it a practical choice for those who have already attended a cooking class elsewhere and want to expand their repertoire. The atmosphere is relaxed and personal, with a warm host and small group sizes that occasionally result in private sessions. Instructors walk participants through each recipe clearly, covering technique and flavour balance rather than simply guiding them through the steps. The setting suits both complete beginners and those with some kitchen experience, and families with children have found it equally enjoyable. Good to know: Classes run seven days a week from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, offering reasonable flexibility for travellers with varying schedules. Booking in advance is advisable, particularly for those hoping to request a custom menu or secure a private session. Visit rawaithaicookingclass.com for current pricing, session durations, and dish options before confirming a reservation.

We had an amazing time at this cooking class! I went with my 10-year-old daughter and the rest of my family, and we were lucky to have the whole session just for us. The host and her helper were both super professional, kind, and welcoming. Everything was so well organized — the ingredients were fresh, the kitchen spotless, and the atmosphere relaxed and fun. You cook a lot of delicious food, so definitely come hungry 😄 — and you can take your leftovers home too! A lovely extra touch was the little shop at the end, where you can buy affordable, gift-sized ingredients and equipment to continue cooking Thai food at home. Totally worth the money. We can’t wait to try all the recipes again at home!
Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was fantastic, and the team was so warm and welcoming. I’m beyond happy that I finally learned how to cook my favorite Thai dishes! The venue was spotless, everything was well organized, and the instructors were incredibly attentive — they explained every step clearly and made the whole process so easy and fun. And the best part… the food turned out delicious! 😍 I’ll definitely be coming back next year to learn even more dishes. Highly recommend this cooking class to anyone visiting! 👌🏻✨
Rawai Thai Cooking Experience - good value vs hotel option. Only two of us +’s and -‘s but overall great experience. Prepared from fresh ingredients Papaya Salad, Stir Fried Chicken and Cashew nuts and Thai Green curry, also contributed to making Mango Sticky rice. Really good facility and tuition plus you get a certificate. Only downside was payment of balance was cash only (no forewarning) whereas initial booking was by card. Luckily had sufficient cash to make payment - phew. Good follow up sending the recipes through by email.

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
