Lan Sabai Retreats

4.9(40 reviews)

Tucked away in the quiet Rawai district of southern Phuket, Lan Sabai Retreats is a small, intimate wellness centre offering a calm alternative to the island's busier resort areas. With just eight guest rooms set around a pool, the property is designed to feel like a private sanctuary rather than a commercial spa facility, drawing visitors who are looking to genuinely rest, reset, and focus on their wellbeing. Guests can expect a thoughtfully curated experience that includes meditation workshops, detox programmes, and wellness activities developed by the retreat's own team. Visitors consistently highlight the quality of the food and drinks on offer, the attentiveness of the staff, and the tranquil atmosphere of the grounds. The retreat has also demonstrated a willingness to accommodate guests with specific health needs, including those with dietary requirements such as diabetes, making it a more inclusive option than some comparable programmes in the region. Good to know: Lan Sabai Retreats appears to operate both day-visit programmes and multi-night stays, so it suits travellers with varying schedules. Because it is a small property with limited rooms, booking well in advance is advisable, particularly during Phuket's high season between November and April. As no website is currently listed, prospective guests should contact the retreat directly to confirm availability, current programme offerings, and pricing before making plans to visit.

Visitor Reviews

Lan Sabi in Phuket provided me with a retreat experience that surpassed all expectations and left an enduring mark on my soul. From the moment I arrived, I was immediately struck by the beauty and tranquility of the location. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The environment set the stage for a truly immersive and rejuvenating retreat experience. The accommodations at Lan Sabi are nothing short of remarkable. The rooms are perfectly designed, offering a harmonious blend of sophistication and comfort that would rival the finest 5-star hotels. Stepping into my room, I was greeted by a spacious space, thoughtfully equipped with every amenity I could desire during my retreat. The views from my room, whether of the mountains or the pool, provided a captivating and relaxing stay. One of the most exceptional aspects of my retreat was the warm and genuine hospitality extended by Lisa, the great host and owner of Lan Sabi. Her dedication to ensuring that every detail of my visit was flawlessly executed was evident in every interaction and experience. Whether it was her meticulous attention to personalized meals or her thoughtful accommodation of individual needs, Lisa's commitment to creating an unforgettable retreat experience was unparalleled. Speaking of meals, I must take a moment to celebrate the culinary journey at Lan Sabi. The chef's expertise shone through in every dish, and Lisa's dedication to accommodating dietary requirements only served to elevate the already exceptional dining experience. The personalized schedule offered at Lan Sabi was another hallmark of my retreat experience. It was tailored to my preferences, ensuring a perfect balance of rest, relaxation, and physical activities. My desire to return for an extended stay is a testament to the profound impact that Lan Sabi had on me. In conclusion, every aspect of my retreat at Lan Sabi in Phuket exceeded my expectations, leaving me with cherished memories and a profound sense of renewal. I strongly encourage anyone in search of a truly exceptional retreat to experience the magic of Lan Sabi .

My wife was going to this detox retreat and I wanted to join her but the place she was going to did not allow me to join her since I am a diabetic patient and that retreat does not cater food for diabetics. Just a bit of background: I went through quite the challenging and rough year at work, lots of pressure and work-related issues. I am self-employed and co-manage a company with my business partners. Decided to travel with my wife anyway where I had to take some time off to destress and recharge my battery. Problem is I read about almost every single retreat in Phuket and sent questions and couldn't find something that suits my needs until I stumbled upon Lan Sabai, and it was the best thing I have done to my physical and mental health in a very long time. From the second you start communicating with them inquiring about the place you will feel genuinely welcomed. Lisa and her team are not only kind and passionate about their place and their job, they invest so much energy in getting to know your needs and going the extra mile that others don't have the time and energy for. The place is built and designed in a way that fits all of the above description. The food was so good, that as a diabetic Type 1 patient for 33 years I can assure you that it does not get better than that, it was healthy, delicious, wholesome, tasty and using the finest and freshest local ingredients. The program was designed in a way that you will not need to worry about planning any activity for yourself, they think of every little detail that I did not think of. I strongly recommend that if you want to take care of your health and wellbeing that you book at least a week there, it is truly a very special place and I am back from my holidays very refreshed and energized after this wonderful retreat. Thank you, Lisa and the Lan Sabai team.

Such a great wellness retreat I've never been! All the people there are friendly, caring,as well as the super nice environment with a cozy guest room! So amazed with those workshops designed by the founder and fellow collaborators, like yoga, singing bowl, beach meditation, vision board, astrology, qi gong etc. This stay rejuvenates my body, mind & soul, will definitely come back again. Highly recommended! ;)

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas

Learn Wat Pho First

Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.

Communicate Pressure Preferences

Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.

Book Longer Sessions

A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
