L'Arôme by the sea
Perched above Patong Beach on Phrabaramee Road, this French fine dining restaurant offers one of Phuket's more memorable rooftop settings, combining sweeping seaside views with a kitchen built around refined technique and carefully composed tasting menus. The degustation menu is the centrepiece of the experience, with wine pairings guided by a sommelier team that draws consistent praise for both knowledge and presentation. Pre-dinner cocktails at the rooftop bar — including rose-infused options — are a natural starting point before moving through to the dining room. Service is a defining feature at L'Arôme by the Sea, with individual staff members regularly singled out in visitor feedback for attentiveness and warmth. The restaurant draws a steady crowd for milestone occasions including anniversaries and birthdays, though solo diners also feature prominently among those who rate the experience highly. The atmosphere sits firmly in the special-occasion bracket, with the early evening rooftop session particularly well-suited to catching the sunset before dinner. Open daily from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the restaurant operates at luxury pricing across all services. Arriving around opening time secures the best positions for sunset views at the bar before dinner. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially during the high season from November through April. Smart casual dress at minimum is appropriate for the setting.

Visitor Reviews
I decided very last minute to make reservations for this restaurant while I was in Phuket to take myself on a solo birthday dinner. And i’m so glad I did! The location is gorgeous, and it definitely contributed to the overall experience and atmosphere. From the very beginning the dining experience felt incredibly personal; from the greeting, the menu, and the birthday card they provided. Overall, the food delightful; the flavors of each one came across really well. My favorites were the bluefin tuna chutoro, the japanese red snapper (the crispy skin was perfectly cooked!), and the flavor of the mango chutney. I think my only critique of the service was some of the servers still had trouble articulating some of the parts of the menu; but that didn’t take away from my experience at all. I didn’t do the wine pairing, and looking back, I wish I did. Definitely a pricier option In Phuket, but it was well worth it for me!
Everything about larome was amazing, especially the food and the service! We had June and bamking taking care of us and the attention to detail was on point. I went for my birthday and she brought out the Polaroid so we could take the pictures home with us. They also send you home with dessert cookies. We were having a hard time taking selfies with the larome sign because of the lighting, she came and brought some lighting so we could get good pictures she even took some on her phone to send us! Ok so about the food… literally some of the best things I put in my mouth! Everything and I mean everything was soo good. We did the tasting menu and it did not disappoint, the drinks were also so so good. I would absolutely go here again and next time go during sunset because they have a beautiful view over the water!
The view for the sunset over Patong beach is breathtaking at the rooftop bar. The Degustation Menu was phenomenal, especially with the wine pairing. All of the dishes are unique. The dinner starts off strong with the Brown Crab and does not falter by dessert - the Goat Yoghurt is a must-try. The staff were all very professional and know all about each dish being served. They were also very accommodating, eager for feedback on each dish, and wonderful to talk to. There is no doubt everyone at L’Arome by the sea is devoted to providing the best dining experience in Phuket.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
