Eijimaya Japanese Restaurant
Tucked away in the Paknam neighbourhood of Krabi, this Japanese restaurant draws a loyal following of both locals and travellers seeking a genuine alternative to the area's predominantly Thai dining scene. The menu leans into classic Japanese fare, with standout offerings including salmon sashimi prepared in a Thai-influenced marinade — a dish that reflects the kitchen's willingness to blend traditions thoughtfully. A Japanese-style garden outside adds a calm, considered ambience that sets it apart from more utilitarian dining spots in the region. The restaurant is notably halal-certified, making it accessible to Muslim diners without compromising on flavour — a detail visitors have flagged as a genuine plus. Dishes are prepared to order and arrive quickly, and the staff are consistently described as attentive and welcoming. The setting feels relaxed rather than tourist-facing, which contributes to an atmosphere more in keeping with how locals approach a meal out. Good to know: Eijimaya operates every day of the week from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, covering both lunch and dinner. The Paknam location sits slightly outside central Krabi, so arranging transport in advance is advisable, particularly for evening visits. As with any raw fish dining, those with sensitivities may wish to visit earlier in service when ingredients are freshest. Given its popularity, arriving during mid-afternoon on a weekday offers the most relaxed experience.

Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great Japanese food with top-notch service! The food is excellent, with a variety of dishes to choose from. Everything is prepared quickly and beautifully presented, and the price is very reasonable for the quality you get. The atmosphere is also great—there's plenty of seating, and each table feels private, making it a comfortable dining experience. The staff here are amazing—professional, friendly, and attentive. I’ll definitely come back 👍🏻
Their Beef bowl is nice. We hesitated abit with Halal sign for Japanese cuisine, fortunately, this place successfully make it testy without Mirin. Definitely the place everyone can enjoy their meal.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
