Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.

Why go, and how to do it well

This is a market for people who live in Krabi, not for people visiting it, and that's exactly the appeal. Secondhand clothes and household bits sit alongside stalls of fruit, vegetables and food, and the prices are set for locals doing their weekly shop. If you're self-catering, or you just want an hour among people going about an ordinary Tuesday, it's worth the trip out to Pak Nam.

Keep your expectations honest, though. It's smaller than the big weekend markets and the spread of goods is thinner, so treat it as a rummage rather than a shopping trip. Go with time to poke through the secondhand tables and you'll probably come away with something. Go expecting rows of souvenir stalls and you'll wonder why you bothered.

Reviews from Google

Amazing. Thais only. Super cheap! Secret tip

Nice place

You can find quite a variety of things from clothes to food but not many as the weekend market. Parking is quite an issue specially for tourists. Hard to find a place to park even bikes at peak hours.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping

Arrive Early or Late

Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.

Be Cautious with Tailors

Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.

Claim Your VAT Refund

Spend 2,000+ THB at a single store displaying 'VAT Refund for Tourists' signs, get a yellow form at the register, and claim 7% VAT back at the airport. It adds up fast on bigger purchases.
