CRU Kitchen & Bar
Situated in the heart of Ao Nang, this kitchen and bar has built a strong following among visitors to Krabi for its combination of quality cooking, thoughtful drinks menu, and a genuinely enjoyable atmosphere. The menu leans toward Western and international dishes, with standouts including beef tenderloin with pepper sauce and salmon served with zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and almond flakes — the kind of cooking that draws guests back for a second visit within the same trip. Beyond the food, the venue regularly features live music, with a blues band noted by multiple visitors as a highlight of the evening. The bar offers a selection of wines and cocktails alongside standard drinks, making it as suitable for a relaxed dinner as it is for a longer night out. The space is open-air in feel, with a laid-back atmosphere that suits the Ao Nang beach town setting without feeling too casual for a special meal. Good to know: CRU Kitchen and Bar is open every day from 10:30 AM until midnight, so it works well for both late lunches and evening dining. Reviewers note that food preparation can take around 25 minutes during busy periods, so arriving without a tight schedule is advisable. Prices run slightly higher than typical Thai restaurants in the area, which is worth factoring in before visiting. Checking the website at crukrabi.com ahead of time is recommended for current menu details or any special events.

Visitor Reviews
CRU Kitchen & Bar is a great spot in Ao Nang for a relaxed night out. The food was really solid — fresh ingredients, good portions, and nicely balanced flavors. Everything came out well presented and tasted as good as it looked. The live music added a really nice touch to the evening. It created a fun, easygoing atmosphere without overpowering the conversation. Just the right vibe to enjoy dinner and a few drinks. Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience was smooth and enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. 🎶🍹
Very tasty dinner at CRU in Ao Nang. The beef tenderloin with pepper sauce was excellent — the sauce was perfect. My salmon with vegetables (zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and almond flakes on carrot purée) was also delicious and very well seasoned. The only small downside was the portion size — the salmon was quite small. Next time we’ll definitely order a starter because the food is too tasty not to try more.
Highly recommend, excellent service. They had a band playing, which was perfect music to accompany our lovely meal. They have a selection of wines and cocktails along with usual drinks offering. I sampled both and was very happy with the wine. We both had wonderful mains, my partner had pavlova for dessert it was delicious. I skipped it for a cocktail. Perfect place to celebrate my partners birthday

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
