The Bridge Bar & Bistro
Situated on the banks of the Kwai River within the Xcape River Kwai resort complex, The Bridge Bar & Bistro offers a relaxed dining setting framed by sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. Large windows make the most of the peaceful riverfront scenery, and the calm, welcoming atmosphere suits everything from a leisurely breakfast to an evening meal. The menu covers a broad range of options across all-day dining, with visitor favourites including chicken Caesar salad, tofu soup, pork chop, and fettuccine. The restaurant is part of the X2 (Cross) hotel group, whose signature all-day breakfast with champagne is available here and draws returning guests. Food quality is consistently noted as solid, and the combination of setting and menu variety makes it a comfortable choice for both resort guests and outside visitors. The bistro is open every day from 07:00 to 22:00, making it convenient for any meal. It sits a short distance from Kanchanaburi town centre — roughly 15 minutes by private vehicle — so those without a car or scooter should plan transport in advance. Navigating via Google Maps is straightforward. Given its resort location, the venue tends to be quieter than restaurants closer to the main tourist strip, which suits travellers looking for a more relaxed dining experience away from the busier parts of town.

Visitor Reviews
This restaurant is a beautiful place to enjoy a meal, especially because of the large windows that let you see the peaceful lake outside. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, making it great for both special occasions and casual dining. The food is very tasty, and the menu has a good variety of options. My favorite dish was the MaMa Oh-ho Mini. It was so delicious and looked amazing on the plate. You can tell the chefs put a lot of effort into making it perfect. The staff were very kind and helpful, always making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Overall, this is a fantastic place to eat, and I will definitely come back again. If you’re looking for good food with a lovely view, this restaurant is a perfect choice!
Accessibility: A little bit far from Kanchanaburi Center, but can be accessed using private vehicle and reach within 15 minutes. Easy to locate using google map. The bridge Bar and Bistro is located inside Cross River Kwai hotel. Parking: Have ample space for parking. Have golf cart to shuttle around the hotel area. Ambience: Indoor dining has framed glass walls, modern styling gave the place a very young and modern vibe. They also have outdoor dining, where you can enjoy the breeze. Both have the scenic view of River Kwai. Food: A little pricey compared to other restaurants in Kanchanaburi. The serving is good for 1 person. I tried the Ceasar Salad - a tinge of lemon made an exciting twist. Also tried the Fettucine pesto and the combination of herbs is notable. - The taste is good and general Service and Staff - very attentive, short waiting time and can speak english
Located on the banks of Kwai river, surrounded with amazing and peaceful landscape. Great place to grab breakfast lunch or dinner. We ordered the chicken Caesar salad which was great, tofu soup was good, pad Thai was also good. Dessert-wise we took the waffle which was good. I would expect more of this place due to its facilities so for my opinion food is good but can be better and plate-ring/serving can be more sophisticated. Good example for that case is the chicken Caesar salad which was served beautifully. Service was extremely kind.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
