ร้านอาหารลาวใต้หัวหิน
Tucked away on Soi Hua Hin 106, this small outdoor restaurant brings the bold, honest flavours of southern Lao and Isaan cooking to Hua Hin. It operates as a genuine neighbourhood spot rather than a tourist-facing venue, which is precisely what makes it worth seeking out. Standout dishes from visitor feedback include the moo nam tok and a three-mushroom soup, alongside a menu that spans grilled proteins, fresh herbs, and sticky rice — the hallmarks of this regional cuisine. The patio setting comes with fans and music, keeping the atmosphere relaxed even on warm evenings. Service is a consistent highlight, with staff described by repeat visitors as exceptionally welcoming and attentive. The kitchen uses fresh ingredients and prices are noted as very reasonable, making this a strong option for travellers who want a satisfying meal without a tourist price tag. The restaurant has attracted a loyal following among both locals and those staying in the area, with some guests returning multiple times within a single trip. Good to know: The restaurant opens exclusively for dinner, every day from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. As a small outdoor venue with a dedicated local following, it can fill up during peak evening hours — arriving closer to opening time is advisable if you prefer a quieter start to the meal. The location on Soi Hua Hin 106 in Nong Kae puts it slightly off the main tourist strip, so arriving by taxi or rideshare is the most straightforward option.

Visitor Reviews
Delicious local dishes at a very reasonable price. Super fresh ingredients and friendly service! Nice patio with music and lots of fans.
Went on evening of 2 Jan. Looked like it had been busy, while I was waiting several tables were cleared but l was ignored, no one asked about drinks, no one cleared the part of the table which was used earlier. After waiting 15 minutes l left and went to another good restaurant around the corner. A perfect secluded quiet restaurant not on a main road or tourist area. However it's very popular with a few resident expats and locals alike. I was drawn to the Issan food sign and lm So glad l went. Food is mouth watering good, full of traditional Thai herbs and spices. It's full of flavour and not ruined with too much chilli. Even when l ordered hot it was well balanced. Ambience is good. Well spaced out tables. Excellent value for money. Looks like l don't have to go into the town for great food it's just around the corner. Staff are great friendly and helpful, a super chef 5* this evening l had my wife's favourite, fried chicken and cashew nuts, really tasted, fresh pan roasted nuts and chicken was dipped in a fine temoura batter.
Such a very local hidden gem. The food is very yummy and so authentic. The moo nam tok as well the 3 mushrooms soup was simply fantastic. They are very welcoming and willing to make you to have a great experience there. A lovely place as I love them.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
