Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.

Why go, and how to do it well
Hua Hin Old Railway Station is the town's best-known building, a red-and-cream wooden station with a royal waiting room beside the tracks. The railway reached Hua Hin in 1911, and the line is what turned a fishing village into Thailand's first beach resort, when the royal family and Bangkok's well-off began coming down by train.
The ornate pavilion on the platform is the Phramongkutklao Pavilion, the royal waiting room, moved here from Sanam Chandra Palace in Nakhon Pathom in 1967. It's the shot everyone comes for.
Trains no longer stop here. A new elevated station opened next to it in December 2023, and the old building is kept as a heritage site you can walk around. It's in the town center, a short walk from the beach and the night market, and the morning light on the pavilion is the best for photos.

Reviews from Google
Hua Hin Railway Station is one of the most beautiful and iconic train stations in Thailand. It was built during the reign of King Rama VI, alongside the development of Hua Hin as one of the country’s leading seaside resorts. The station stands out with its classic red and yellow wooden architecture and traditional Thai-style roof, reflecting the charm of a bygone era. Most notable is the Royal Waiting Pavilion of King Vajiravudh, once used for royal arrivals, which has become the station’s most recognizable symbol. In the past, the Southern Line railway was the main route connecting Bangkok to Hua Hin. As a result, Hua Hin Railway Station became a gateway to leisure, happiness, and countless memories for generations of travelers. Today, despite the passage of time, the station retains its original beauty and character. It remains an active transport hub, a popular photography spot, and a historical landmark that quietly tells the story of Hua Hin. Sometimes, simply standing and waiting for a train feels like stepping back into the past.
Good to see the old line and station remain in place, there's also three old carriages on display outside the station on the roundabout. The old style lamposts are very ornate, good to see them still in place. Station is very close to Night market and Walking Street area. And there's numerous eating places with a short walk.
It's beautiful and stylish, but I'd like to ask the railway to add large ceiling fans in the waiting area or a small convenience store to facilitate tourists.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
Go Early Morning
Big-name temples are dramatically less crowded in the first hour after opening. You'll also avoid the worst of the midday heat and get softer light for photos.
