Tops Food Hall Central Chiangmai
A step above the budget supermarket chains common across Thailand, this Tops outpost inside Central Chiangmai shopping centre combines a well-stocked premium grocery store with a food hall offering multiple stalls and a broad range of ready-to-eat dishes. It draws a consistent mix of locals and tourists seeking quality ingredients, fresh fruit, and a more curated grocery experience than what Big C or Lotus typically offer. The food hall section suits groups or solo travellers who want variety without committing to a single restaurant, with enough stall options to accommodate different tastes in one visit. The atmosphere is generally comfortable and well-organised, with self-checkout available for faster trips and staff noted for being approachable and willing to assist. Seating in the food hall can become scarce during lunch and dinner rushes, so visiting outside peak hours makes for a more relaxed experience. Good to know: The location on the Lampang-Chiang Mai Superhighway is not walkable from the old city or most central tourist accommodation, so a taxi or ride-hail app is the practical way to get here. This works best as part of a broader visit to Central Chiangmai rather than a standalone trip. Travellers considering online ordering from this location should be aware that some visitors have reported significant fulfilment issues with delivery orders, so shopping in person is the more reliable option.

Visitor Reviews
What a nice supermarket ❤️ The staff near self checkout was incredibly helpful and even arranged a discount for us even though we didn’t have a membership. Really appreciated it.
This place attract many tourists and local customer that need some quality food & quality ingredients. This place is not like Big C or Lotus but like Tops or Rimping. This full of fresh food like fruits, vegetables, daily product, bakery, meat, seafood, salad bar, cheese. And other like wine, sausage and normal supermarket stuff. Price is rather expensive in some product. (Import Product, some fresh food) Product is not the same like Tops or Rimping. If you like quality product. I may recommend this place after Rimping.
A great place to eat, although can be a bit busy at times and finding seat may have to wait. but the choice of stalls and food is pretty big. visit several times a month when out shopping. Just best to pick your time.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
