Why go, and how to do it well
The Little Prince Café is a themed café that is also an art space. It sits inside L'Envol on Suan Phlu Road in Sathon, the studio of Arnaud Nazare-Aga, a French pop artist who has lived in Bangkok since 2005, and it was opened in 2023 with the family of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The rooms are full of his sculptures, the Little Prince among sumo wrestlers and hippos, with stars painted across the ceiling and more figures on the rooftop.
The menu is French-leaning, with homemade pastries, single-origin coffee, Kusmi teas and matcha, and in the evening the same complex runs Vol de Nuit, a cocktail bar named after Saint-Exupéry's novel. It is one of the highest-rated cafés in the city on Google, and it reads as a gallery visit as much as a coffee stop.
It is closed on Mondays. Suan Phlu is a quiet residential lane between Sathorn and Rama IV, and the stations at Sala Daeng, Chong Nonsi and Lumphini are all a short taxi or motorbike ride away rather than a comfortable walk.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
Use Grab for Delivery
The Grab app works for food delivery across Thailand, letting you order from street stalls and restaurants alike. It's invaluable on rainy days or when you want to eat in your hotel.
