Why go, and how to do it well
Make Me Mango is the mango sticky rice stop for anyone doing the temples. It sits on Maha Rat Road in Tha Tian, a few minutes on foot from Wat Pho and the Tha Tian pier, in a narrow two-floor shophouse café with air conditioning, which on a Bangkok afternoon is half the appeal. The whole menu is mango. The sticky rice plate is the reason to come, and around it are mango smoothies, mango bingsu, custard sets and a signature set that puts several of them on one tray.
It costs more than a street cart, around ฿175 for the sticky rice, because you are paying for a seat, a cold room and fruit that is reliably ripe. Expect a queue at peak afternoon hours; the upstairs room turns over quickly. The same brand has had counters in big malls such as CentralWorld, but the Tha Tian shop is the original and the one to plan a temple day around.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
Use Grab for Delivery
The Grab app works for food delivery across Thailand, letting you order from street stalls and restaurants alike. It's invaluable on rainy days or when you want to eat in your hotel.
