Factory Coffee is the specialty café Bangkok's coffee people tend to name first. It opened in 2013, Thailand barista champions have worked the bar, and it roasts its own beans. The room is industrial, concrete and metal, and the menu goes well beyond a flat white, with signature drinks such as the Phaya Thai, espresso with lemon and soda, and a range of cold brews.
The location is the other reason it suits visitors. It sits on Phaya Thai Road at the Airport Rail Link station, linked to BTS Phaya Thai, so it is an easy first coffee straight off the train from Suvarnabhumi or a stop on the way into Siam. It is popular, and reviewers report queues even at mid-morning on weekdays, so don't come in a hurry.
It opens at 08:00 and closes at 16:00, earlier than most cafés in the city, so plan it for the morning. Seats are limited at busy times.
