Chit Hole Phuket Brewery
Tucked into Phuket Old Town on Takuapa Road, this craft brewpub stands out from the island's more tourist-heavy nightlife options by focusing on locally brewed beer and a genuinely laid-back atmosphere. It draws a mix of locals and visitors, particularly those with an interest in Thailand's growing craft beer scene, and has earned a strong reputation among travelers from beer-conscious regions like the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Guests can expect knowledgeable, welcoming staff who walk newcomers through the beer selection and offer tastes before committing to a full pour. Tasting options are available, making it easy to work through the range of house brews, which lean toward flavourful, hop-forward styles. A free pool table adds to the casual social energy, and the overall setting feels more like a neighborhood local than a polished bar — in the best sense. Good to know: Specific opening hours are not listed online, so it is worth checking ahead before visiting, especially if planning an early evening stop. The Phuket Old Town location makes it a natural fit when exploring the area's heritage streets, shophouses, and local dining. Casual dress is entirely appropriate, and the tasting flight is a practical starting point for first-time visitors.

Visitor Reviews
What a find in the heart of Phuket Old Town! CHIT HOLE is a standout craft beer bar, and I can’t recommend it enough. A definite 5-star experience. Being able to order a tasting option is a great way to explore the menu, and the staff are more than happy to offer a sample before you commit. It’s a real treat for any beer enthusiast. The hospitality here was so good too. The service is genuinely warm, attentive, and caring. The combination of amazing craft beer and outstanding service was 10/10, cheers all!
Phuket Old Town for a few nights and we had to try out Chit Hole Brewery. We were greeted at the bar by the amazing staff giving us a full run down on their beers, letting us taste before deciding on the tasting paddle. Free popcorn and a super cool professional set up. Atmosphere, music and seating all on point. Not cheap but standard is high so happy to pay. Can't comment on food as we didn't eat but the popcorn was good! Highly recommend stopping by from 5pm.
What a find!!! We are from the Pacific Northwest in the United States, where they know how to do beer really well… This place is right up there! We tried four different beers and they were all fantastic. We played pool for free and he gave us popcorn and we got some smoked cheese. Easy walk from old town. Do not miss this place. It’s true what they say it’s really.GOOD CHIT!!!
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
