Pattaya Walking Street

4.3(51,994 reviews)

Pattaya Walking Street is the city's most famous nightlife destination, transforming each evening into a vehicle-free pedestrian strip stretching along the southern waterfront. From around 7pm, the street fills with neon signage, live music spilling out of bars, open-air restaurants, nightclubs, and a constant flow of international visitors. The energy is loud, colourful, and unapologetically after-dark in character. Visitors can expect a dense stretch of entertainment options packed side by side — from seafood dining and casual drinking spots to live performance venues and clubs that run well into the early hours. The atmosphere is lively and crowded on weekends in particular, and the street caters almost entirely to adult entertainment in its broadest sense. Reviewers consistently note the variety on offer, whether that's a meal, a night out, or simply the spectacle of the street itself. Walking Street opens nightly at 7pm and runs until 3am every day of the week. It is widely considered unsuitable for children, and most visitors treat it as an adults-only experience. Those coming purely for the seafood restaurants will find them easier to enjoy earlier in the evening before the crowds peak. Comfortable footwear is recommended, as the street is long and can get congested. There is no entry fee to walk the street itself.

Visitor Reviews

Walking Street (Pattaya) is the most famous nightlife street in Pattaya. Every night the road is closed for vehicles and becomes a pedestrian street full of: • Neon lights • Bars, live music pubs • Seafood restaurants • Street shows & entertainment • Crowds of tourists It is the busiest place in Pattaya after 7:00 PM and becomes fully active from 9:00 PM to midnight. Best time to visit: After 8:30 PM Location: South Pattaya (near Bali Hai Pier)

From clubbing to great seafood and even the spicy side of life... You'll find anything you want to get into on this street! I recommend this as an adult area as it's not suitable for children. If you walk away disappointed it's definitely because you did something wrong!

I visited Pattaya to see big Buddha. while returning, cab driver dropped on the way, we walk down stairs to see "Pattaya city" signboard near sea shore. after clicking some pics, we walked to nearby restaurants for food. it was near to Walking street, while returning we crossed the road. It has club, restaurants, bar and ....( for adults). If you do not want unpleasant situation, try to avoid the street or any talk with locals here.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars

Carry Your Passport or a Copy

Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.

Know the Closing Times

Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.

Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously

Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
