It's a hostess bar on Soi 80, which means the welcome is warm, the staff are chatty and English-speaking, and you'll likely be asked to buy someone a drink before your first beer is half gone. One reviewer bristled at how fast that came. If that's not your scene, walk on. If it is, the people here get named in reviews, which tells you something about how the place is run.

Small Chang goes for around 80 baht, so the money side is honest enough. The room itself is nothing much and at least one visitor thought it could use a freshen-up, but it's clean and the music's decent. Afternoons are the quiet stretch, sometimes empty, which suits anyone who wants a beer and a bit of conversation without a crowd. Later on it fills out.

My advice: treat it as a social stop rather than a destination. Have two or three, chat, move along the soi.
