Baan Moo Satay
This sprawling open-air street food market in central Hua Hin draws a predominantly local crowd and offers one of the more genuine Thai evening dining experiences in the area. Multiple stalls line the space serving Thai barbecue, satay skewers, deep-fried and salted fish, papaya and cucumber salads, and a range of regional dishes. Indian vendors and western food options also feature, giving it broader appeal for travellers with varying tastes or dietary preferences. The atmosphere is relaxed and sociable, with live music performed nightly and food brought to shared tables after ordering and paying at individual stalls. Beer and other drinks are available at equally reasonable prices, and the open-air setting keeps things informal. The combination of low prices, varied food options, and a largely local clientele gives it a noticeably different character from the tourist-oriented dining venues found elsewhere in Hua Hin. Good to know: Baan Moo Satay opens every evening at 5pm and runs until midnight, seven days a week. Cash is required at the food stall counters, so come prepared. The live music is a consistent feature of the experience but can be loud — those sensitive to noise may prefer a table further from the stage. Arriving earlier in the evening generally means a quieter atmosphere before the main crowd builds later in the night.

Visitor Reviews
Fantastic food location with live music. The Indian vendors do an excellent Korma and the Thai vendors just knock it out of the park. Pricing is excellent. The music is a bit loud so take ear plugs if sensitive however plenty of seating options away from the entertainment also works fine.
This is a huge street food market with excellent prices on food and alcohol. Take your pick of Thai or western food and others. Pay cash at counter then pick a table and eat. I have been twice and live music was playing both nights but it was the weekend so not sure what happens on weekdays. Can get crowded later in the evening but I found a table easy. Also great for those who are "people watchers". Toilets are clean and nice but cost 5 baht per go.
Brilliant vibe and place has many options for food stalls with different cuisines. Live music and food can be brought to your table. Locals hang out so food is much cheaper than restaurants.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
