Casa Mio Music & Wine Bar
Casa Mio brings a wine-focused, music-driven atmosphere to Chiang Rai's nightlife, setting itself apart from the city's more typical beer bar offerings. The venue features a curated wine selection, a wine cellar, and a food menu that includes steaks, making it a reasonable choice for those after a fuller evening out rather than just drinks. Live music performances are a core part of the experience, and the two-storey layout gives guests some flexibility — the second floor suits those who want to enjoy the atmosphere at a slightly lower volume. The crowd tends to skew toward larger groups, which shapes the overall vibe. Couples or solo travellers looking for a quiet, intimate setting may find it less comfortable, particularly as the night progresses. Service quality appears inconsistent across visits, with some guests praising attentive staff and others reporting slow or inaccurate orders, so it is worth keeping expectations measured on that front. Casa Mio opens at 5pm every day of the week and runs until midnight, making early evening arrival a practical option for those who prefer a calmer start to the night. Checking the website at thecasamio.com ahead of time is worthwhile, as live performance schedules and any special events are likely listed there. Mid-range pricing keeps it accessible without positioning it as a budget stop.

Visitor Reviews
‘My Home’ or mio casa in Spanish is a fabulous night spot creation in chiangrai unmatched by any others in the city. It even has a wine cellar and steaks for ti to choose and cooked to perfection by excellent chefs. Even on a Thursday night with fewer customers the atmosphere created by the fantastic band is electrifying, only if you are not reserved.
Great venue for concert! Drinks and food are amazing! Staff and owner are 10/10
The place is nice, has live music, and has a 2nd floor if you prefer some distance. I just couldn't get comfortable there, since the primary audience seems to be larger groups and not couples.

Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
